I thought is was pretty interesting. However, I didn't agree with part of it. The video, to me, didn't even get the message out till half way through when the narrator said something, our phone are smart but the people are dumb, or something like that. I thought that it was over exaggerated a bit. In the video, just because this guy didn't have his phone he was able to get married, buy a house, and start a family. besides that I thought that the video was insightful and it was a different way to get people of the the electronics and into the real world.

Read this blog post by a teacher. I mean actually read it. Take it in. Think about it. And then, write about it. What do you think about it? What is the teacher trying to say? In your own words explain what "the main event" is. Do you agree or disagree with the writer?
We read this in science yesterday and talked about it as well. I thought that it was really insightful. The teacher is trying to say that life and school is not suppose to be easy and that you have to work hard in both aspects to achieve what you want/ need. The author is also saying that we can quit to easily and need to stick with it and push through it. The "main event" is something that is not than the academics. Its the life problems that you are faced with and have to solve. The "main event" is becoming a better person. I would agree with the author, sometimes I quit to early, and so do other people. I agree with him saying that we need to stop the excuses and just get it done and get it done right.

Status update! Tell me where you are at on your product website? Can you be finished by tomorrow at the end of the hour? Do you need more time? How much more time? Be honest and explain yourself.
The product that I choose to do was barbies. I think parts of my website look really cool, like the rollover links. As for finishing tomorrow, there is a possibility that I might finish. However, I would have to work super hard both days and then get a bit lucky. It would be more beneficial to have the block day to work to add more to the website and improve it.

Welcome back! How was your Spring Break? Tell me all about it. You've been out of school for 10 days so I know you will have plenty to share. Make it good!
For spring break, I didn't do that much. The whole break main consisted of sitting on my coach and watching T.V. However, for a volleyball tournament, I went to Brandon, and while we were there we stayed an extra day just to go do stuff. My favorite thing that we did was a maze of mirrors. It was really fun but really confusing at the same time because you would see ten of the same person and then sometimes these figures would pop out in front of you. We also went to a go-karting place and rode around on them for awhile. The next weekend I had another tournament, and that was fun because we ended up taking first overall.

Do you like the layout of this project? Have you benefited from your brainstorming sheet? Was it more helpful or annoying when starting to map out your website? Explain why.
So far, I think what I have is coming together pretty well and will look cool once the pictures are in the place that I want them to be in. So far the brainstorming sheet has not help me a lot, mainly because I almost memorized the whole thing, and don't need the sheet for reference. However, I still think it was helpful because I was able to organize my thoughts on the paper and ion my brain and get to know the layout of the site a bit better that I would have without the sheet.

After reading below to see where you should be on your product website - are you caught up? What helps you stay caught up in class? Do you like having small checkpoints? Are you behind? If so, what are you going to do to get caught up?
Yes I am caught up. I have everything that was on the completed list finished. The best thing that help me stay caught up is giving something little to do each day, so then I won't have a day where I don't know what to do so then I just sit there. That said, it means that I do like the small checkpoints and to have them each day. I am not behind yet, but in the future since I have a complex website coming I am worried that I might get behind.

What idea do you have that is going to make you product website different, unique or unlike anyone else? If you're answer is you don't know - it's time to start THINKING. Explain your idea.
The main thing I am hoping that will make my website different is the display of all the items. I am visualizing to have the front side of the product, but then when you rollover the picture it will change to the back.I am aware that the topic isn't that original, but with the pictures I am also hoping to take my own pictures. The product that I choose was barbies. The main reason is because I wanted something fun and from my childhood, and that is what I thought of. When I was little I would play with them almost everyday, so it just fit. I also thought it was creative and many ideas can spring off of the topic. I am hoping that the site will incorporate the ideas that I have into it really well.

What are three things you learned about color theory and web design yesterday? Go in to detail.
The main thing that I learned about color theory is the type of the design, such as the mono, which would just be shades of one color. Another type that I recall is the analogic which is three colors that are right next to each other, but also go together. There are other ones like complement, which is the opposite color on the color wheel. Overall, I learned that different types of site will need the different color scheme and a good color scheme for the website.

Overall color is important because it makes it more appealing to the eye. It can make a reader tune in or turn away. The color can make a website better by adding visual images and highlighting words or phases that are important or maybe linked up. The color of the website can also make the reader stay on the page. It can make it worse by going on color overload and having tons of color everywhere and it just makes the website sloppy and make the reader not want to read the website.

What did you learn about file types as you created and designed your travel website? What are some other kinds of file types you know of? What do these different files do? Explain.
The main thing that I learned was the difference of the PNG and PSD. The PNG is basically something that is saved and can no longer be edited and the PSD can be changed. Other files that I know is close to nothing. However, I think there is a jpeg file or something like that, and then the file that you save documents as, which I don't know the name of. I am not sure, but I think that jpeg could be something to do with images.

What was your takeaway from this Travel Site? What did you learn that you didn't know before? How will the knowledge of how we built this site help you improve your future websites?
When I built the site I learned a bunch of things that I didn't know, which is basically everything that we did. The biggest takeaway was how to use Photoshop and the big components in that. Things that I learned that I didn't know before is the whole Photoshop program and then how to rollover and create the site in Dreamweaver. I can use this in the future because it gives a more creative format to the whole site building process, and I need to be creative.

What do you know about Photoshop? Have you used it before? What can it do? Are you an expert? A newbie? Tell me about your background and what you already know.
In Emerging Tech we did the mini unit on photography and with that we did a little bit of photo shopping. With that said, I would say I am not very good with it because I don't think what we did was really photo shopping. What I think photo shopping can do is edit photos or add items in that weren't originally in the picture. Overall, I don't think I have a lot of background with Photoshop, and would say the topi is fairly new to me.

The user to one of my site would just interact by clicking on the links or heading that I provided. I think the main function that the website should have is an easy navigation bar and easy navigation throughout. The website should also have are linked to the word or phase and not just the web address. These links should stand out in a way, such as being underlined or a different color. This is important so the website is easy to use and the user doesn't think it is unorganized and leave the page.

Tell me about your Sweetheart weekend. If you didn't go to Sweetheart, what did you do? I want details!
My sweetheart weekend was okay. I didn't do that much. I did't go to sweetheart, just because I didn't want to. But, I couldn't do anything else because I had to go to a soccer game. The soccer game was not even that fun because my team got creamed by the other team. I can't remember what the sore was, however, I know that it was a lot to a little. Then the next day (Sunday) I had to wake up early to go to another soccer game, which we lost. Overall, the weekend wasn't the best one I have ever had.

I don't have a big part of my website planned out. However, the four sections are going to include, friends, family, hobbies, and favorites. I chose the topic because I already know things to put for them, and those subjects are very broad so it can include a lot of information. I don't have any significant plans for the website, I will most likely figure out in the moment. I might put some cool different pictures on it to make it stand out.

What are your thoughts on HTML code? Did you enjoy the coding activity? Do you feel like you learned anything? Explain yourself.
The HTML activity that we did was different from what I thought we would be doing in this class. I thought it was pretty cool and it made me feel really smart typing in all of the coding and stuff. So, yes, I did enjoy the coding activity, and found it helpful as well, because I think that I learned a lot. Specifically, I feel like I learned the <p> type of things and then how to close them off. Overall, it was a good activity to introduce the coding.

Tell me about your three day weekend. How was it? What did you do? Elaborate!
To me, the weekend went a lot faster than it should have. Getting out early on Friday was fun because I had one of my friends over after school. Saturday was the slowest day, because all I did was sleep and watch t.v. The best part about the weekend was going to a volleyball sleepover with my team. It was really enjoyable. First, we went bowling and I got second place out of everyone! We then went back to one of the girl's house and played ping pong and ate food. After that, we watched two movies, although no one was really watching, we were talking. The next morning, about half the team had to leave early so the other half stayed and played wii until we had to leave. Overall, the weekend was exciting and fun

Tell me if you agree with this statement and then why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted it, I should be able to use it."
I think that the statement is wrong and right at the same time. I would like to believe that people are good and that if a bad picture comes along then no one will use-that is not the case though. It is right because yes the poster did put it out for you to use it, and yes it was their choice. It is wrong because if the picture is something that the person could possibly want to take back, and you could tell, then it would be wrong. Overall, if I had to pick one side it would be wrong.

What do you know about plagiarism? What do you know about plagiarism on the internet? How do web design, the internet and plagiarism all effect each other? Explain.
I know a lot about plagiarism. I know that it has very extreme consequences when it is done. I also know that in college, you can get kicked out if you paper is plagiarized. Plagiarism on the internet, I assume, would be the the coping and pasting or using similar words of another website. Web design, the internet and plagiarism are all able to effect each other because the plagiarize on the internet these are the things that would be needed to be plagiarized. If one person were to be making a website about a factual topic they could take information from another website and not cite it.This would be called plagiarism.

What do you already know about web design? How it works? Programs you can use? Tools that exist? Anything.
I don't know a lot about web design, but I do know somethings can help from Emerging Tech. I have ideas of how it works. However, I may think that I know less than I think I do, because I think that information is common sense. I have used other people's personally set-up webpages and I have seen a person start to set-up a website. I don't know many programs at the top of my head, but I do know one, weebly. I don't know anything about the tools but I would think that the tools would be similar to blogger, and I an pretty comfortable and good at navigating at blogger.
